The De-Powered Playbook

You used to have powers, but they were taken away from you. Now you’re expected to go back to being a normal civilian. Well, screw that. You don’t need powers to be a hero, you just have to try a little harder.

Persistent, competent, diminished, mundane. The De-Powered used to have abilities that defined how they moved through the world. While some powers are more of a curse than a blessing, these were not just useful; they were a joy to use. Until they were gone.

The De-Powered is inspired by heroes who lost their powers but kept fighting villains, such as the X-Men's Storm, the New Mutants' Dani Moonstar, and the Young Avengers' Prodigy.

Veil’s Edge Games does another good playbook!

I love the vibes associated with a returning character, the depowered is a great way to change from a Nova or a Transformed in game, and it’s also fun at the start!

The moves are fun and straightforward while bringing a unique feel to them!

Some things could be nice to clear up such as when unleashing your powers with the playbook special do the unchecked boxes add on top of your freak modifier or replace it? And does it do the maximum of ~2 or possibly a ~4? (Maybe even a ~ 5 with the starting Freak) Also to spend the hold selfishly at their expense as a part of the first team move, would that mean only shifting your labels?
